Shanghai Gua Tu Di Trading Co., Ltd. takes its name from one cat, Mugua, and two dogs, Tuhao and Katy. Gua comes from Mugua, Tu from Tuhao, and Di comes from 蒂 (di), the second character in Katy's Chinese name (凯蒂). Together they became Gua Tu Di.
GTDs is formed from GUA, TU and DI. Over time it has come to mean something broader to us: every pet who shares a life with people and is genuinely treated as family.
