Mugua, Tuhao and Katy were the first three members of the Gua Tu Di family. Gua comes from Mugua, Tu from Tuhao, and Di comes from 蒂 (di), the second character in Katy's Chinese name (凯蒂). Their names came together as Gua Tu Di and became the starting point for how we think about pets, products and health.
Later, Mugua's younger brother Niunai joined the family. Tuhao is outgoing and puts food and friendship first. Katy is the well-mannered young lady of the house. Mugua is independent and affectionate only on her own terms. Niunai is playful, home-loving and forever bringing back a discovery. Their personalities differ, but each one makes the word family tangible.
We have watched them grow day by day. Mugua is a folded-ear cat, and the genetic trait behind folded ears affects cartilage and bone development. Her life made us pay attention early to changes in gait, jumping, activity and joint comfort as pets age. They do not become old in a single moment; change appears quietly across ordinary routines.
We cannot stop time. We can, however, study how vitality may be supported for longer, how age-related change can be approached thoughtfully and how pets can continue to move freely, eat well, stay curious and take part in family life through more stages of life.
You reap what you sow. That idea gives Gua Tu Di another meaning. Products intended to support long-term health do not appear overnight. Time, ingredients, formulation research, validation, manufacturing quality and patience all have to be cultivated.
Our founding team's experience in veterinary ingredients, scaled manufacturing and quality systems, together with university research collaboration, forms the foundation of Dr.GTDs. Our long-term focus is functional treats and nutrition shaped by scientific formulation, continued validation and consistent everyday use.
Dr.GTDs is not built around a promise to reverse age. We aim to advance pet healthspan through nutritional directions that can be researched, tested and improved over time. Longer life matters, but so do mobility, appetite, curiosity and quality of life.
Our horizon is 20+. It is not a guarantee about any individual pet's lifespan. It is a direction for long-term R&D: a future in which reaching twenty and beyond in good health is no longer a story reserved for a fortunate few.
GTDs now carries an additional meaning: Growing Together. Driven by Science. Growing Together is the life pets and people share. Driven by Science is how we take responsibility for that time. What we truly hope to extend is not only lifespan, but the time we live well together.
